Imagine enjoying a complete, new smile after one visit in our dental chair. It is possible with All-on-4 dental implants. For those who need to replace all their upper or lower teeth, All-on-4 fixed dentures can be an incredible option. At Peninsula Cosmetic & Family Dentistry, we specialize in creating new smiles for our patients, and we are happy to offer innovative restoration options such as All-on-4 dental implants.
Teeth-in-a-Day with Dental Implants
All-on-4 dental implants are a type of fixed denture supported by dental implants. The difference is in the technique used when inserting the implants, requiring fewer implants per arch. Most implant-supported dentures require six to eight implants per arch, which requires more bone density to support. All-on-4 fixed dentures only need four implants per arch, allowing more patients to qualify for this restorative option.
All-on-4 dental implants are often called “teeth-in-a-day,” as patients can receive their dental implants and new smile in one visit. Patients can walk into our offices in Charleston, SC, without a full set of teeth and walk out later that day with a beautiful, complete smile. While it does take a few months for dental implants to heal completely, transitional dentures are put in place until the permanent dentures can be installed.
Are Fixed Dentures Right for You?
All-on-4 dental implants offer a hybrid denture option that is ideal for many of our patients. Since only four implants are needed per arch, these fixed dentures are cost-effective, and more patients can qualify to receive these implants. Patients do need to have enough bone to support the implants – some individuals may need bone grafting or other dental treatments before their implants can be placed.
If you want the comfort and convenience of implant-supported dentures, All-on-4 dental implants may be right for you.
